Position Title: Environmental Specialist - ODA Projects (Waste Management & Renewable Energy Policy)
Overview:
The Environmental Specialist will serve as a pivotal asset, leveraging extensive expertise in environmental management, project leadership, liaison capabilities, and a strong track record in Official Development Assistance (ODA) projects. This role focuses on waste management and renewable energy policy within the ODA framework.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management and Technical Expertise:
Lead and oversee environmental assessments, feasibility studies, and project planning within ODA-funded initiatives, particularly in waste management and renewable energy policy.
Provide technical guidance, ensuring adherence to ODA guidelines, and incorporating renewable energy policy frameworks.
ODA Project Coordination and Liaison:
Coordinate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including government bodies, international agencies, local communities, and NGOs, to align project goals and facilitate partnerships.
Act as a liaison between the project team, stakeholders, and donor agencies to ensure effective communication and project alignment.
Waste Management and Renewable Energy Policy Implementation:
Develop and implement strategies for efficient waste management practices in alignment with ODA standards.
Advise on and implement renewable energy policy frameworks, integrating sustainable practices into project initiatives.
Capacity Building and Advocacy:
Conduct training programs, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions on waste management best practices and renewable energy policies.
Advocate for environmentally sustainable policies and practices through engagement with stakeholders and government entities.
Technical Advisory and Quality Assurance:
Offer expert advice, recommendations, and quality assurance in waste management strategies, renewable energy policy formulation, and implementation.
Review project documents, reports, and deliverables, ensuring compliance with environmental standards and best practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
Advanced degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, International Development, or related field.
Over 15 years of progressive experience, notably in ODA-funded projects, emphasizing waste management and renewable energy policy.
Demonstrated expertise in waste management practices, renewable energy policy formulation, and implementation.
Proven project management skills, including planning, implementation, stakeholder engagement, and reporting within the ODA context.
Fluent in English, with exceptional communication, negotiation, and liaison capacities.
Reporting: The Environmental Specialist will report to the Team Leader.
Duration and Remuneration:
This position is a contractual role with a duration of 1 year (renewable). Remuneration will be our company’s task-based remuneration model which will be adjusted annually.
